Red face The use of pronouns in poetry

I was wondering about something called the poetic license... Can I use "his" instead of "its" when I refer to something else other than the human in poetry?

Generally not unless you're writing in Middle English; or you're using personification. If you are attributing human characteristics to something, say, the sun, you can write, "His bright face rises over the hills ... ", but you need a reason to do this, and it generally comes in the context of an extended metaphor.
Do you have an example in mind?

Re: The use of pronouns in poetry

    Hi dear,
Nice to hear the answer from you.

Yes I have an example and in fact the original writer here gives personification in his poem to "the violet".

    "The Violet"

    His heart is the joy

    while grief
    is a bed of his.
