    using the word tyranny

    Is this sentence correect?I have problems using the word tyranny.
    I suppose in this manner they had remained legislatively unaccountable for all the tyranny they had put mankind under, throughout centuries of alcohol culture.

    Re: using the word tyranny

    The sentence is not entirely correct. Your use of tyranny is correct.

    Re: using the word tyranny

    The sentence is grammatical but could be better written.

    Re: using the word tyranny

    put mankind under- this should be subjected mankind to or put mankind through. Without more context, though, the sentence doesn't mean much to me.

    Re: using the word tyranny

    It's a part of a short story I am writing.Regarding your demand for more context; the following is a paragraph of it:

    How I hated those terrorist-German-beer-brewers who were planting all those bombs in the mind of their most earnest of customers; for them to explode only as an aftermath…the day after. I suppose in this manner they had remained legislatively unaccountable for all the tyranny they had put mankind through, throughout centuries of alcohol culture.

    Thanks in advance.

    PS:I have already made the change you advised me to.Hence I think I owe you another official expression of gratitude:
    Thank you!hehe
