I heard these two phrases as quoted from a book from a friend:
"heat radiated from land"
"heat radiated off the oceans"
Why "from" in the first and "off" in the second? Are they interchangeable in these sentences? Does this usage have to do with grammar or semantics?
With many thanks in advance.
Are they interchangeable in these phrases? For example can we say:
"heat radiated off land"
"heat radiated from the oceans"
