If a sentence that had had had had had would it be correct?
If a sentence that had 'had' had 'had had', would it be correct?

= If the past simple form 'had' in a sentence were to be replaced by the past perfect form 'had had', would it be correct?

Two teachers were discussing how two candidates, Austen and Maurice, had translated a sentence from Latin into English.
One of them said that Austen, where Maurice had had ‘had’, had had ‘had had’; ‘had had’ had been correct.
