    chicken feed

    Dear teachers,

    Would you tell me whether I am right about my interpretation of the expression in bold in the following sentence?

    That meant only chicken feed foe the proprietary companies and big producers on the Golden Mile unless they increased their output tremendously .. (K. S. Prichard, “Winged Seeds”)

    chicken feed = small sum, miserable leavings
