What's the difference between "to arrive at our room" and "to arrive in our room".

Does the first mean that you arrive in front of it, in front of the door and that you use the second only once you're in it ?

Thanks.

'at' is used for relatively smaller places, 'in' for bigger ones.

I arrived at the airport.
I arrived in Mexico.
