    nothing too elaborate

    Hi,

You want a plain blouse to go with that skirt - nothing too elaborate.

What does "nothing too elaborate" mean in this sentence?

    Thanks a lot

In other words, a plain blouse, as specified in the first part of your sentence.

The attention will be on the skirt. So you don't want to pair it with an equally flashy blouse. So, it is suggested that you want to pair the skirt with a plain blouse.
