    to write as you listen

    Teachers...

How do you call the act of listening to a recording (audio or video) and writing it to have it available as a pdf or doc file?

Usually people listen to the file for 10 seconds, pause, write, then continue until it is finished.

Is there a (phrasal) verb for it?

I have to ____________ this video/audio files and send them to the group.

    Many thanks

    You could use "transcribe".

Re: to write as you listen

    So, are these correct?

Do you have any more videos for me to transcribe?
Are these the audio files I have to write out from?

Could 'to write down/up' also be synonyms with 'transcribe'?

I have to write those up.
I've got new videos to write down from.

    Thanks

I wouldn't use "write out/down from", "write up" is OK I suppose but I would just use "transcribe".
