    inversion grammar

    Dear all,

Not until she took up rock climbing did she overcome her fear of heights.

Why do you inverse did she overcome her fear of heights ?

Why not Not until did she took up rock climbing

What I mean is why doesn't inversion occurs right after not until

    Many thanks

The whole sentence is an inversion of "She didn't overcome her fear of heights until she took up rock climbing".
