    both/or

    Which is correct:

1-We had two trials this week. One for a burglary case and one for a murder case. In both cases I had the feeling that the victim was being tried and not the burglar or the murderer.

2-We had two trials this week. One for a burglary case and one for a murder case. In both cases I had the feeling that the victim was being tried and not, in one case, the burglar and, in the other, the murderer.

    Re: both/or

It seems to me that both are correct. I prefer the first one as it is less wordy.
