    simply perplexed!

If ya got the time please weigh in
Q: Does Tommy have a black eye?
Which answer would be correct (or more correct) to the above question?
    a) Yes, he does!
    b) Yes, he has!
As a teacher, I find myself in a quandry; I feel one answer is "more commomly used", but are both answers correct or is one wrong...and why? I'm in the process of creating mid-term exams and need to utilize ONLY "one correct answer" questions.

If you insist on only one correct answer, you should probably not use this question. I would accept either one as correct.

    Re: simply perplexed!

Maybe you should use a multiple choice format where the detractors (wrong answers) are clearly wrong.

Does Tommy have a black eye?

    A. Yes, he do.

    B. Yes, he does.

    C. Yes, he have.

    D. Yes, he is.
