    revising of one sentence 4

    Dear teachers,

Would you share with me your high appreciated opinion concerning the correctness of the following sentence?

There was a considerable prolongation of the term for getting the business over by reason of the heavy weather.

    Thanks for your efforts.

    Regards,

    V

    Not incorrect, but very stodgy.

The noun prolongation instead of the verb prolong and by reason instead of because make it seem pretentious.
