    straight java

    Hi

He was gulping from a large mug of straight java.

Does it mean he was drinking coffee without sugar and milk from a large mug?

    Re: straight java

Probably (I think some users would tolerate a little sugar in 'straight Java' - but it certainly has no milk.)

    Guest,

In case you do not already know it,

I thought that you would like to know that there's another

slang word used by some Americans for coffee:

I can't start my work until I have my morning joe.

    Thank you

Is that just for straight java, or for coffee in general, Parser?

Great question. I wish that I knew the answer. Hopefully, another

    American will tell us.
