It just gets me confused to describe the following situation.

For example, I am in Korea and now is 9 am and it is 8 am in China where my friend is, then which one is correct among the following?

- China is one hour behind Korea
- China is one hour ahead of Korea

Thank you in advance.

It is later in the day where you are, so you are ahead of them.

I'm an hour ahead of my parents in Texas. When it's noon here, it's only 11 am there.
They are an hour behind me.

What would you say about this situation?

(If) It is 11:00 a.m. where I am and and 3:00 a.m. where you are, who is ahead and by how much?

Your time zone is ahead (to his) by 8 hours.

Don't talk about "time zones"; the question is about time, not time zones.
Whose time is ahead and by how much? Your answer is not correct.
"what bunch of time" is incorrect?

Barb_D gave a simple, straightforward answer to the original question. Why did you add this, which does not address the question?

e2e4, your enthusiasm is delightful, and your desire to help others is admirable. However, what you write is sometimes irrelevant, sometimes confusing, and sometimes simply wrong. Please bear in mind the notice above this thread: You are welcome to answer questions posted in the Ask a Teacher forum as long as your suggestions, help, and advice reflect a good understanding of the English language.

Your time [STRIKE]zone[/STRIKE] is ahead (of his) by 8 hours.
That is not correct.

If it is 11:00 a.m. on Monday where I am, it is 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday where paris 06 is. So (his)(her) time is 16 hours ahead of my time. I have to wait 16 hours until it is 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday where I am.
If you are confused or doubtful about that consider the following.

When it is 6 a.m. Monday where I am, it is 10 p.m. Monday where paris 06 is, again 16 hours ahead of me.

My time cannot be ahead of (his)(her) time some of the time and behind (his)(her) time at other times.
