Dear teachers,

Can being careful be considered a personal quality?
If a person is careful, does that mean they give a lot of thought and attention to someting so as to avoid making a mistake?

A person who wants to pursue a teaching career need to be very careful.

A person who thinks about someone's needs and cares for them = caring?

What is the difference between a careful and an attentive person then?
They seem to mean almost the same. :-?

I think I would use "cautious" as a personality trait. Some people have a naturally cautious nature.

Your definitions for careful and caring seem right on the money.

Someone who is attentive pays attention to the needs of others and the situation, but not to avoid dangers or pitfalls.

Thank you!
But is there any difference between watching/listening to sth carefully and watching/listening to sth attentively?

I don't think there is really.
