    Exclamation zebra crossing or...

    Hello my dear masters,
    would you please tall me which sentence is more common and is better to use?And what`s the difference between these sentences?Do we have any other term for it?

    1)zebra crossing.
    2)pedestrian crossing.
    3)pelican crossing.

    To be honest with you I have never heard of pelican crossing before but found out this info:

    It's simply a crossing with push buttons where you control the traffic. Zebra crossing is not an American phrase (at least not Canadian) but I've heard that somewhere before. White stripes are simply painted on the ashfalt thus having the resemblance of zebra stripes.

    PEDESTRIAN CROSSING is the most common term. It is where people walk across a street. A pedestrian is a walking person.

    The difference between these sentences, each one talks about a different thing crossing the street: a zebra, a person, or a pelican.

    Another term for a PEDESTRIAN CROSSING would be a CROSSWALK. (where you CROSS the street when you WALK. Crosswalk.)

    That's right! People see pelicans and zebras in London and Paris all over the place....
