Smile The question on a subjunctive mood.

Hi. I've got a question about 'A Subjunctive mood'

This is the sentence that I am not sure of in terms of Grammatical principle.

'If I wanted to talk to one of those crazy people who (believe or believed?) in the advent of a ghost, where would I go?'

According to what I've learned from school, I definitely know that 'wanted' in the subordinate clause should be a past tense but I'm not sure if 'believe' part should have a past tense form or not. if you have the answer, please add your reply to this question. Thank you.

    1. want does not have to be past tense, as lauralie's examples show, though it can be:

If I wanted to talk to one of those crazy people who believed in the advent of a ghost, where would I go?'

    2. It's not subjunctive mood.

    3. 'Advent of a ghost' appears strange to me. I would say, " .... who believes in ghosts/ in the existence of ghosts".
