I am currently completing the Focus on the learner assignment and am looking for some interesting exercises for a student who has trouble using the present perfect, present simple and simple past correctly. Can anyone recommend any creative resources for my assignment? Maybe a game or something? I have looked around online but can't find anything very inspiring.

Aitken, Rosemary (1992) Teaching Tenses, Walton-on-Thames: Nelson, pages 25-27 (and other pages).

It's worth buying a copy if your training establishment hasn't got a copy in the library; it's a really useful book for beginning teachers - and for more experienced ones, too!

A good fun idea is 3 small texts cut up and then mixed up. The student then has to identify and make the texts.
Good Luck
