what's the point of the joke?

    Hi.
I don't see the point of the following joke.

"Telepaths," Her Majesty said. "Ah, yes. We must all stick together. In
the hospital, you know, we had a little joke--the patients for Insulin
Shock Therapy used to say: 'If we don't stick together, we'll all be
stuck separately.' Do you see, Sir Thomas?"

I think I understand what "stick together" means, but what does "(to) be stuck separately" mean here?

I don't understand the joke either, but the phrase 'be stuck' means 'be stuck [with a needle]. Insulin is administered with a needle.

That is what I thought. Thank you for your comment, and have a happy new year!

The phrase "stick together" means to stay together, to be loyal to one another.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
