Mary:My car wouldn't start this morning

Kevin:I used to have a problem like that. Did you check the battery?

Mary:Yeah. It was dead again. I had to find someone to jump it for

    Re: jump it

A jump start for a car is when you connect the battery to another car with a fully charged battery. You use "jumper cables" to do this. With the working car running, you can start the car with the dead battery.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
