    bewildered vs. confused

    Dear all,

Could you please help me check if the following sentences are correct and native-like? Thank you!

    1. I am bewildered by this sentence. Could you please explain it to me?

    2. Your descriptions are too exaggerated. She is not as pretty as you said.

Both are fine. though the sentence in #1 must be very strange for you to be bewildered; I would normally expect someone to be confused.

Here are two personal examples. I am confused by #3, bewildered by #4.

    3. Fred told Luke that he had seen Bill and that he was going to pay him for his work as soon as he had the money.

    4. Fred told Luke that he had seen Bill and that he was going to pay him for the work he had done for him if he gave him the money before he left to go on holiday with his son, if he hadn't changed his mind about going with him so soon after his illness.
