[Grammar] what about / how about $180?

Dear teachers,

Let's look at the dialogue between a salesperson and me in a fashion shop:

Me: "How much is this?"
Salesperson: "It's $200"
Me: "hmm...the price is just too high."
Salesperson: "how about $180?"

Shall the salesperson use "what about" or "how about" in this case?

I would probably say "what", but "how" is very commonly used.
