    simple yet tricky question

    Is this grammatical?

    I have seen him in the last week.


    I cannot use the past tense right?

    P/S: there is a difference between "last week" and "the last week".

    Yes, it's grammatical. Simple past wouldn't be correct. You could say "I saw him last week" though.
