    Too much electricity

    - Young people in his city often skip class to have car or motorcycle races. Futhermore, new skyscrapers use too much electricity and affect the whole city's electricity supply.

Do these sentences make sense and natural?

Thanks a lot in advance to Teachers and members,

As isolated sentences, they are correct. However, I can't see any connection between them. They don't make sense together, so "Furthermore" is wrong.
Are they meant to go together?

Maybe he's making a point about how the young kids today use too much energy.
