    take after + preposition

    Hello!

    Is it okay to use 'in" in the sentence below or does the sentence sound weird?

    John takes after his mom in appearance and dad in behavior.

    As a NES, but not a teacher, I would have no problem with your sentence as written, except, maybe, I would have said "mum" rather than "mom".
