1) What are the differences between 'same' and 'identical' in usage?
2) Are the following sentences correct and do they mean the same?
a) These cars look the same.
b) These cars look identical.
Tks / ju
"Identical" is a stronger word. I could say two cars look the same, but one is a Toyota and the other a Ford. I would not say they are "identical."
Supposing we were in the street and you said to me "Is that the same car that we saw yesterday?" I might say "No, it's not the same car, the registration is different, but it is identical to the one we saw".
