Hello,

She is one of those journalists who support/supports opposition

I know that there're two different viewpoints about such sentences. On the one hand we should use "support" because "journalists" stands in the plural, but on the other hand "one" makes us put "supports". What do you think about all this?

Thanks.

Milan,

(1) Yes, you are right: there are two viewpoints.

(a) Some people would say: the "right" viewpoint and the

"wrong" viewpoint!!!

(2) I go along with those who say there is only one "right"

answer:

She is one.

One of what?

Those journalists.

What about those journalists?

They support the opposition.

THEREFORE:

She is one/ of those journalists (who support the opposition).

Compare:

She is the only one (of those journalists) who supports the opposition.
