    2 They hope to have a number one hit some day.Thank you!

    A hit is a song that is very popular. (It can apply to a movie or tv show, etc.)
    I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
