    have watched / have seen

Is it OK to say "I've seen the movie" or I should always use "watched"?

Re: have watched / have seen

"I've seen that movie" is a very natural thing to say.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

This offers a good example of illustrating the difference between seen and watched.

'I've seen The Exorcist. It was so scary I watched some parts with my eyes half closed.'
