What does the "for" mean in this sentence?
He finally sold the car for scrap metal.
Does it mean "as"?
Thanks a lot
Thanks a lot,
Can you explain a bit of the sentence?
He sold the car because he needed scrap metal?
IMO, he sold the car because
a) it was old and didn't work properly or
b) he wanted to buy a new and he couldn't seel it to anyone else
so it could only be used as scrap metal.
Thanks a lot, buddy.
But I really don't want you to guess the possible reasons that he sold the car, can you just tell me how you understand the sentence?
Does it mean:
He sold the car because the car is scrap metal?
It's a useless car (for him), so he took it to the scrapyard to sell it as scrap metal.
