    sometimes things happen...

Would you please paraphrase the following in easy English?

Sometimes things happen ...... that turn out so well we couldn't have improved on them if we'd mapped out our own lives in advance.

The above is the whole sentence including "......". There is no omitted part.

    Thank you.

Sometimes things go well by accident instead of through good planning.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

    Unpakwon,

    (1) First, may I edit your quotation?

Sometimes things happen that turn out so well [have such a

wonderful ending] that we could not have made the ending

better even if we had the ability to plan what happens to us

    in this life.

    (2) I think that it means something like:

Sometimes in life, things will be a million times better than

you could have ever imagined or planned or hoped for.

    (3) Let's say that you made plans to someday find a good wife/husband.

Let's say that life surprises you by bringing you such a wonderful,

    fantastic spouse that you think:

Wow! Never ever [at no time] in my dreams did I think that I

would meet such a wonderful, fantastic, super person!!!
