Is there any difference between using the words "production" and "manufacturing" in proper english?
Hi,
It all depends on the context.
For instance you might say, 'the factory increased production' last year', meaning it increased the volume of goods leaving the factory, whereas the word 'manufacturing' would not mean quite the same. 'Manufacturing' might imply manufacturing capacity, i.e. the ability of the factory to produce more whether it did or not.
