Do I need a preposition here?

    Hi,

Do I need an "in" in this sentence?

Since he lost so much gambling, he's drawn in his horns a bit. (Original one)

Since he lost so much in gambling, he's drawn in his horns a bit. (New one)

    Thanks a lot
