Would anyone please explain the following in bold more easily?

1. Most of the projects would never go anywhere, would never earn a penny of revenue, and some were duplicating what another group was also working on. But it didn't matter; enough would be successful to make a difference. The company was fat with cash, and bustling with creative ideas.

2. It's not an easy life but it teaches you independence. If you weren't creative, there was nothing much in the way of entertainment. I made my own surfboards and crafted two sailboats that actually sailed pretty well.

Thank you for your time.

A sufficient number of the projects ('enough') would be successsful for there to be a positive effect

2. [...] If you weren't creative, there was nothing much in the way of entertainment.

There were few entertainment facilities or opportunities.

Thank you for the answer.

On #1, I'm still confused. Is it saying "even though most of the projects were not successful, the number of projects that brought positive effect was enough"?
