    Question 'ring the doorbell'?

    Hi,
Could anyone please tell me what the right verb for 'doorbell' is?
Waht is the most common usage?

Say, in a sentence like, 'We were just sitting when somebody.... .'

Can we just use rang here? How about buzz?

    Thanks in advance.

    I could say:

    ... rang the doorbell
    or
buzzed (if that were the sound).

In this context I wouldn't say just rang - that could be the telephone.

    Question Re: 'ring the doorbell'?

Thanks. So, isn't there a single verb for that?

And, can intercom be used for this whole system, especially the ones with a camera?
