    skate off the road

    Dear all,

What is the meaning of "skate of the road" in the following context:

"This weather is freaking ridiculous, We will do the wedding rehearsal tomorrow. My mom has already skated off the road"

It makes you feel that she made an accident. Still if that is the meaning, i think they would have postponed the whole wedding, not only the rehearsal!"

    Re: skate off the road

Sounds like her car slipped on the road, due to bad weather (snow/ice).

A minor car accident would be no reason to postpone a wedding. Delaying the rehearsal to wait for a storm to pass is reasonable. With snow, the roads may be bad while the storm is active, but the next day they are usually cleared.
