The greetings in UK, US and Aus?

    Hi Guys,

I'd like to learn more about the greetings when I am in UK, US and Aus?
I learnt in the school we should say "How are you?" when meeting someone and the answer is "Fine, thank you and you?"...I feel so boring if we used the same one repeat and repeat....I just wanted to consult all native speakers from UK, US and Australia, how do you say hi when you meet someone....and how do you answer them? Please advise.
