show you around - how to use this phrase

    Hello,

I'm a bit unsure if native speakers would use 'in' in the following sentence:

'I promise I'll show you around in my hometown.'

    Could you help me?
    Thank you,
    heyt

Re: show you around - how to use this phrase

    I would omit the preposition.

Let me show you my hometown.
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.

Re: show you around - how to use this phrase

The women were shown around the college by some of the teachers.

No preposition is used by native speakers.
