Hi panicmonger. It would be good to have a context for "marked", for example the whole sentence wherein you found it. But I'll assume you mean it in the sense of:
There is a marked difference between those two styles.
or
After the operation the change in her looks was quite marked.
In both these instances "marked" means "clear to see" or "very noticeable". However it does not necessarily mean the difference is stunning, just that it's very obvious.
