    hi, everyone:
    can you guys tell me more about how to pronounce "s".
    For example:

    bakes or temps or plays or catches

    There are three sounds there. The first two have /s/ - a hissing sound like a snake. (Note that 'bakes' is a single syllable, so the 's' follows an unvoiced consonant, as does the 's' in 'temps').

    The third has the sound /z/. Where the tongue goes is the same, but the sound is voiced. (For the difference between voiced and unvoiced consonants look here: Voiced and unvoiced consonants | TeachingEnglish | British Council | BBC )

    The fourth has the sound /ɪz/.

    i've read

    But i was taught that words which end with "p","k", or "t" pronounce differently

    but i am not sure about it

    Have you followed the links Bob and I provided?
    If they do not answer your doubts, can you explain what you think the problem is?

    ps, please use a capital letter for I.
