    What does this sentence mean?

    Hi,

    What does this sentence mean?

We have no more right to consume happiness without producing it than to consume wealth without producing it.

    Thanks a lot

It's about the "balance sheet" of life. If we take something, we must give back something of equal value. You can't fill your car up with petrol and not pay. If you are happy, you should make others happy in the same way that we can't spend money without earning it.

    I hope this helps.

ohhh ... Thanks fivejedjon! A very much modern playwright... reading him in English was just a marvelous exprience... so many wars of believes... comedy and tragedy. And we might even say a good socialist.

So ... perhaps Silverobama had some difficulty with "no more ... than" structure. Perhaps.
