Person, persons, people. How to use them?

    Hi all,

I have a question about the use of "person, persons, people":

    Should I say:

“one person was present” or “one people was present”
“five persons were present” or “five people were present”

Is the word 'people' the plural of 'person' ?

Can I use the word 'persons' in some case or it became obsolete?

It is not exactly obsolete, but it is generally used only in a legalistic style
