    listing actions

    Hello,

I seem to have a rather silly question. Could anybody tell me whether we should list several actions with 'to' or not? For example,

He desperately wants to have his own family, (to) love and (to) be loved.

I think the actions should go without 'to', but I'm just having some nagging doubts.

    Thank you in advance.

    Re: listing actions

    Thank you!
But why should we omit 'to' before the last infinitive?

Because of the use of "and" here. It's understood that "to" applies to both "love" and "be loved".
However, it is not wrong to use "...to be loved". The usage without "to" is more poetic and more common.
