I wonder if "decorating and feeding" is gerund or anything.
1. You did a good job decorating the classroom.
2. I got a job at a zoo feeding giraffes.
If 1= You did a good job of decorating the classroom,
I think "decorating" is gerund, am I correct?
If 2= I got a job at a zoo which feeds giraffes,
I think "feeding" is participle, am I correct?
I believe both of these are participles. As I understand it, a participle is a verbal adjective (or verbal adverb in some cases). So in both your examples, the phrase is verbal and describing a noun.
'decorating the classroom' is an adjectival phrase regarding the job.
'feeding giraffes' is also an adjectival phrase describing the job at the zoo.
A gerund is a verbal noun.
'Running is good for your health'.
