    My mom would be upset to see this mess!

    I've seen some posts that native speakers don't confuse conditional 2's future suppostion, they use "would" for unreal or improbable conditions, while they use "will" for likely conditions.

    But I've seen lots of things that seem to use "would" for any future conditions, isn't the below one of them? Mom's seeing the mess is quite likely.

    ex)My mom would be upset to see this mess.
    Why not will?

    Why not will?
    In your examples: a) "would"; She hasn't seen the mess and probably won't see it. b) "will"; There is a strong probability that she will see it.
