    Hi,

    Do I need to take either "and" or "so" out of the sentence to make it concise?


    This rifle only holds one cartridge and so must be reloaded after each shot.

    On the other hand, if you've been given this sentence and asked to make it more concise, you can remove either of those words (and put a comma after 'cartridge' if you remove 'and'.)
