Hi teachers,

(1)
* They live 100 kilometres from Paris.
* They live 100 km from Paris. In this example, we shall not add "s" but when we read it, we'll say like "kilometres". right?

(2)
* I bought two kilos of potatoes.
* I bought two kilos potatoes. Doesn't this sentence make sense?

(3)
* I went to grocery store. Correct?
* I went to grocery shop. Correct?
* I went to grocery. Correct?
What did you buy?
I bought groceries. Correct?
I bought grocery stuff. correct?

(4)
* I went to the barber's.
* I went to the barber shop. Correct?

* I went to the hairdresser's.
* I went to the hairdresser shop. Correct?

* I went to grocery shop. Correct? Same.
* I went to grocery. Correct? Same.
What did you buy?
I bought groceries. Correct? Yes.
I bought grocery stuff. correct? Yes (informally).

* I went to the barber's. Yes.
* I went to the barber shop. Correct? No.

* I went to the hairdresser's. Yes.
* I went to the hairdresser shop. Correct? No.
