    most for almost

    Do you happen to substitute "most" for "almost" in writing or conversation?

    "I guess most every guy in this bar won't refuse to have a free drink."

    I am not a teacher.

    That "most" sounds cowboy to me (Middle Atlantic, USA). Avoid using it; it is non-standard. Use "almost".
