    Correct use of 'is' or 'are' with 'anyone'?

    OK, I'm confused. Which is the correct way to write this sentence. Do I use 'is' or 'are' with the word 'anyone'?

    Anyone looking to meet new people, try new things and be part of a network of friendly, fun people is welcome to join our friendly club.

    OR

    Anyone looking to meet new people, try new things and be part of a network of friendly, fun people are welcome to join our friendly club.

    Anyone takes a singular verb, so it's is that is correct.

    I would add a comma after "fun people". The lack of it made me read the sentence twice.
