I am not a teacher.
I often see "afford" when there is financial difficulty or there is no time.
But can I use "afford" mentally?
For example, when I'm so tired because of working overtime,
then, I've got some problem at home.
In that case, can I say "I cannot afford to handle it or worry about it."?
"I can't afford to worry about it." Yes.
Also, when you say " I cannot afford it" (when you ommit "to"),
does it mean there is financial difficulty?
I believe so.
Could you please tell me?
Thanks a lot in advance
